I have continued to work on the site and its coming together faster then I thought. I hope I can get through any road blocks I found. Views was a struggle to understand, and trying to theme it by learning the CSS was not as easy as I thought. Turned out you need to theme inside views and in the CSS itself. Yes, I think I figured most of it out and I am glad it looks the way it does. Here is a good reference video that helped me find my way to styling the site.
